In an increasing digital world, we see the role of libraries at times undervalued and occasionally under fire, but libraries are the irreplaceable counter parts to web moderators.

Today’s college library is more important than ever because of the convenience hub, socialisation, motivation, collaboration, resource richness, relevant collections and distraction free environment.

KAMINENI INSTITUTE OF DENTAL SCIENCES has over 4077 books, journals from 1977-2015 and other resources, is spread over an area of 12000 square feet and can accommodate around 250 students.

The library is kept open from 9am- 9pm daily and from 9am-2pm on holidays.

RESOURCES:-

The library has a collection of books covering the basic sections, all the specialities of dentistry, dental hygiene and resource materials for postgraduate entrance and foreign examination; journals in both print and online forms are available; ICT room with ICT materials; compact discs; a number of periodicals and dissertations.

SERVICES:-

DOCUMENT CIRCULATION SERVICES:-

The books are issued to undergraduate students, postgraduates, research scholars and faculty members. Bound, unbound journals, audio-visuals and CDs are for use within the library only.

REFERENCE SERVICES:-

Reference services is a personal aid provided to the user  by the librarian interpreting library collection for study and research. The librarian assists the user to locate needs information from the available resources.

PHOTOCOPIER SERVICES:-

Through this service library provides photocopies of articles from journals and books to the users as and when there is demand.

COMPUTER SERVICES:-

The air conditioned digital library offers following computer services to the users.

• Internet browsing and online journals access.

• Facilities for preparing presentation materials.

• Assisting the students and faculty members for editing projects/thesis, data analysis, printing, CD writing etc..

CD- ROM SERVICES:-

The CD-ROM collection of the library contains full text data bases which includes volumes of various journals and textbooks. 

CURRENT AWARENESS SERVICE:-

Library enables health science professionals keep current by; displaying of new books/journals and making available the same separately for initial period.

DEPARTMENTAL   LIBRARIES:-

To carry out the hospital routine work, postgraduate requirements or immediate or routine references, the department libraries help with central control from the main library. This service is usually limited to on reference.
